The truth about IBD that your gastro will never tell you

If you have IBD and feel trapped in an endless cycle of drugs, diet restrictions and a no answers, keep reading… this post is for you.

The standard IBD playbook never changes:

  • Colonoscopy diagnosis

  • Basic blood work (mostly inflammation marker focused)

  • Immediate immunosuppressants/anti-inflammatory meds

  • Restrictive diet protocols (SCD, low FODMAP, etc.)

For some, this helps temporarily. But the flares come back.

Why? Because the deeper issues playing a role are completely ignored.

Your body builds tolerance to the meds, symptoms return and you get "upgraded" to stronger, more expensive biologics (costing $50,000+ a year).

The medications don't heal anything, they just suppress symptoms while also compromising your immune system and making you more susceptible to other potential health issues.

I know this loop well. I was diagnosed with colitis and given the same “no cure, only management” speech.

Initially, I listened. But it got me nowhere and my condition progressively worsened.

My colitis was never truly controlled. I was completely dependent on medication and my life revolved around my symptoms.

After hitting rock bottom, I realized the “experts” didn’t really seem to know what they were doing and if I ever wanted to try to get my life back, I had to take control of the situation myself.

Fast forward: I became completely symptom free without using any medication. And have since helped dozens of others do the same.

I did this by basically doing the opposite of what my doctors (I ended up going through over 5 different highly recommended gastros) told me to do, which I’ll explain throughout this post.

The issue in most IBD cases is that the doctors treat the fire, not what started it or is keeping it burning.
